Fall Fishing Patterns
CBAA Fall Fishing Patterns
Now that the temperature is dipping and fall colors are spreading across the countryside, many requests have come from college anglers asking for help with locating fall bass. If you study well in advance of a big exam, odds are that your grade will show it. The better a college angler prepares, the greater the odds of success. There is no substitute for spending time on the water when it comes to developing your angling skills. Studying lake and river maps ahead of your outing could save considerable unproductive time when you are on the water. As the water cools in the fall, consider a basic fall pattern as a good place to start your day on the water. Collegiate anglers will want to focus on coves, pockets and creeks. Bass will migrate to these areas in the fall, following the bait fish. Bass will have periods of inactivity in the fall as well. Once college anglers find coves, pockets or creeks, Collegiate Bass Anglers Association recommends fishing in the back of these areas. Throw smaller profile lures and baits such as top-water lures, jerk-baits, spinner-baits and lip-less crank baits. With some homework and proper preparation, college bass anglers may be rewarded with some extremely exciting and memorable experiences on the water. Tight Lines!
